Can You Remove the Griddle Top from a Blackstone Griddle?

Yes, it is possible to remove the griddle top from a Blackstone Griddle. Most griddles by Blackstone use a 4-point locking mechanism.

When you are assembling the griddle, you have to align the four pins on the griddle top with the four holes on the top of the griddle’s body. Once aligned you just push the top toward the back of the body and this locks the top in place.

To remove the griddle top, you do it in reverse. In other words, you have to push the griddle top toward the front of the body. This will unlock the top and you can then lift it up. It’s best done in two people with each one holding one of the sides.
